CAST FOR BUS STOP

Sherman Community Players’ managing director Ron Cassady has announced his cast for the theatre’s upcoming production of BUS STOP. The classic 1950’s romantic comedy written by William Inge finds a group of bus passengers snowbound and stranded in a diner in rural Kansas. Among its colorful passenger list is a young rodeo cowboy who’s fallen in love with a pretty night club singer and is taking her home to Montana to marry her whether she likes it or not.

Playing the roles of the cowboy and singer are Michael and Ashley Logan, a married couple from Prosper who recently appeared in RING OF FIRE. Doris Haynie, a teacher from Whitesboro plays the owner of the diner, and Sherman high school student Meredith Foster plays her wide-eyed waitress.

Veteran SCP performer Darrah Dunn is cast as a former college professor with a shady past, and another SCP regular, Bruce Butler, plays the jovial bus driver. Rounding out the cast are Jim Barnes as an old guitar-playing cowhand and Sherman lawyer Ed Richardson as the town sheriff.

Production personnel in addition to Cassady include Austin College student Kaitlin Forsman as stage manager, Nancy Cassady as costumer, John Markl operating lighting and sound controls and Joni Friend in charge of props. SCP technical director Webster Crocker will design the sets, assisted by technical assistant John Lonnevik.
