You Know I Can't Hear You When The Water is Running

SHERMAN THEATRE OFFERS DINNER THEATRE

Beginning July 29, the Sherman Community Players Board of Directors will be hosting a dinner theatre production of the comedy, YOU KNOW I CAN’T HEAR YOU WHEN THE WATER’S RUNNING as a benefit for the local theatre group.  This is the tenth for the event, which always plays to sold-out houses.

The format is very much like the dinner theatres in the Dallas area, which were so popular several years ago. The event will be held in the Honey McGee Playhouse located directly behind the Finley Theatre, and seating will be limited to only 96 people.  Candlelit tables of four on varying levels surrounding three sides of the performance area make for a very intimate dining and theatre-going experience.  A salad course is served, and then the first act of the play is presented, followed by the main course.  The second act is performed next, followed by dessert, and then the final act.  An attentive wait staff serves the catered meal, and complimentary wine is available.

YOU KNOW I CAN’T HEAR YOU WHEN THE WATER’S RUNNING consists of three very funny, one-act plays.  The first play finds a community theatre director facing the problem of nudity on stage, because the new young playwright insists.  The second play finds a married couple in their 50’s shopping for a new mattress.  The wife is adamant about getting twin beds, but the husband thinks giving up their old bed will be the end of their good times together.  The final play looks in on an elderly married couple who have each been married to so many other people, that they can’t remember who they are and who they’re married to!

The dates for the show are Friday and Saturday evenings, July 29, 30, August 5 and 6 and Sunday afternoons July 31 and August 7.  The doors open for evening shows at 6:30 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. for the matinees.  Tickets are priced at $40 per person for the dinner and the play.

Reservations are a necessity, as there will be no tickets sold at the door.  For reservations and further information call Darlene Schweizer at 903-893-7652.  Visa and MasterCard are accepted.
